Today I am grateful for ice cream that never melts. This bowl of ice cream has been sitting on my desk at work for over 5 months now. I needed to do a photo shoot of some ice cream for some packaging I was working on, but soon realized that using real ice cream would be a nightmare. So, I did a little research and found this recipe for ice cream that never melts in the book Food Styling for Photographers. You basically put a can of frosting in a food processor and add 2-3 cups of powdered sugar. Add any inclusions you want to (including color) and you have ice cream!
